DHL Express is DHL's express division, built around one thing: speed. Its network covers more than 220 countries and is designed for shipments that have to reach their destination urgently.
Transit time over price. For rush orders, B2B deliveries against a deadline or replacement shipments, a day saved outweighs the difference in rate.
Paperless customs. Trade documentation can travel electronically, so customs already holds the data before the parcel arrives. That takes waiting time out of clearance on shipments outside the EU.
Detailed tracking. On urgent shipments you want to know exactly where something is, not roughly.
The order reaches our WMS through your sales channel, is scanned during picking and packing, and goes out with the correct Express label. The tracking link returns to the channel automatically.
Express is rarely the carrier for your whole volume. In practice customers run it alongside a standard carrier: regular where it can be, Express where it has to be. Which shipments take which route is something we agree with you.
Urgency usually comes up on business deliveries with an agreed date. How we set that flow up is described under B2B.
