Lot and serial number registration are important aspects of inventory management at fulfillment lots.
Lot registration involves keeping track of the inventory of products produced using the same characteristics, such as the same production date, batch number or expiration date. This is especially important for products with a limited shelf life, such as food or drugs, whose sell-by dates must be tracked to prevent them from going past their expiration dates.
Serial number registration involves assigning a unique serial number to each individual product so that the product can be identified and its history can be tracked. This is especially important for products subject to safety regulations, such as electronics, auto parts or medical devices.
Fulfilment parties maintain lot and serial numbers in their inventory systems, allowing them to track the location, quantity and status of a specific lot or serial number at any time. This makes it possible to respond quickly and accurately to customer inquiries or problems, such as recalls or warranty claims.
If required, we register the batch and serial numbers in the system upon arrival. You as a customer can then always see via the customer portal which batches or serial numbers are in stock and which have been sent to customers.
